Mass Spectrometry Request Form

Please try to fill our request form as completely as you can.  Our business is determining your mass to charge ratio, so please be careful calculating the mass.

After completely filling out the form, tape your sample vial to it and put it on the appropriate shelf in room B025 of Malott Hall.  If we are out you may slip the sample under the door.

Put samples that need refrigeration in the small fridge in the SE. corner of the lab and put a note on the form stating where the sample is.  Please mark your sample vials clearly.

If your facility is out of town, you may mail the samples to:

Mass Spec Lab, B025 Malott Hall

1251 Wescoe Hall

Lawrence, KS 66045-7582

If we cannot find the mass you have written down, we will run the sample again in another matrix, so please be careful.  Experience with difference classes of compounds helps us to determine what matrixes work best, without a structure however we have nothing to guide us, so please draw a structure.  The formula is also important for us to be able to double check the mass of the compound.
